
Project Overview
Creative block is one of the most common challenges in graphic design. This project, Breaking Creative Blocks, is a 7-slide educational carousel created by Dotstroke — the graphic design and personal branding studio of MD Al Ashkari.
The carousel addresses the four most debilitating creative blockers graphic designers face: burnout, comparison, overthinking, and inspiration drought. Each slide pairs a real problem with a practical designer mindset shift that can be applied immediately.
Visually, the project combines bold typography design with character-driven illustrations and modern layout structure optimized for social media platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Each slide works independently and as part of the sequence — a key strategy for educational carousel design.
This project demonstrates Dotstroke's approach to strategic social media design: content that builds authority, connects with audiences, and drives engagement. It's personal branding in action — designed to teach, inspire, and convert.

Design Process
Discovery & Strategy The project began with research into designer pain points — creative burnout, comparison paralysis, and overthinking. Before any visuals, the content architecture was mapped: a 7-slide narrative arc moving from problem recognition to actionable solutions.
Visual Identity The carousel's visual language centers on bold typography design and character-driven illustration. Large, assertive display type cuts through social media feeds, while expressive character visuals add emotional relatability to abstract concepts like designer mindset and creative momentum.
Layout & Optimization Each slide was engineered for social media design constraints: strong focal points, clear visual hierarchy readable in under three seconds, and asymmetric composition with controlled negative space. This modern minimal graphic design approach balances intentionality with visual interest.
Refinement & Platform Strategy The refinement phase focused on visual rhythm, typographic consistency, and emotional tone. Every detail — spacing, line weight, character expression — was adjusted until each slide worked both individually and as part of the sequence.
The final phase involved platform optimization across Dribbble, Behance, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook — with SEO-optimized file names, alt texts, and platform-specific hashtag strategies to maximize reach and strengthen search visibility for Dotstroke's graphic design services.
